Flatbread pizza

This was a recipe turned wrong that turned awesome!

So I bought a box of  onion Naan bread (Naan is a Persian bread that you cook on the grill or in a pan, rather than in the oven). On the box it said “mix and yeast packet included” but I opened the box and the yeast packet was no where to be found! My Idaho friend was over and we had been running around all day with her cute little 1-year-old and we we so hungry, I really didn’t want to go back to the store to buy more yeast.

So I went with it and my flat bread pizza took on a whole new meaning with the word “flat”. It ended up looking more like a tortilla. But I must say- it was good!! So try and make this delicious recipe for flatbread pizza on yeast-challenged onion naan bread like me, regular naan bread (if you box decides to come with the yeast), or even on a tortilla! Either way it’s sure to be yummy!!

Flatbread Pizza

Ingredients:

  • Naan bread mix (onion flavor is delish!)
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Canned artichoke hearts (in water)
  • Fresh basil
  • Feta cheese
  • Tomato sauce
  • Olive oil

To Do:

Stat by making the naan flatbread according to the package. (All it takes is water and yeast and the bread mix)

Separate the dough into large egg sized balls. Roll each dough ball out with a rolling pin.

Heat a pan on medium heat with a little bit of olive oil.

Cook the bread on each side until browned. Once the bread is done, lightly pile on the toppings (sauce, mozzarella, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, fresh basil, feta cheese)

Place it in a toaster oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the cheese gets all melty.

Enjoy your flat bead pizza!
